Medicine Child’s Play Series

We are shoppers of everything!

We wish to know, learn and appreciate that we are not alone. With my credentials and experiences as a clinical pharmacist and academic pharmacology professor, mental health conditions and neurotransmitters are a challenging topic to explain. Major depressive conditions as well as others occur as young as twelve years of age. How can a parent and sibling understand what their loved one is going through?

This book is designed with plain language storytelling to teach and inform anyone. The amount of information is important to each topic. There are many factors in medical treatment. This book does not cover everything. It is not intended to saddle the reader with the burden of information overload! Rather, it is to help all ages understand how medicines work, risks, side effects, and other considerations in order to work together with their doctor.

The graphics are designed to provide a visual mechanism. They are tools to explain and understand difficult things. There are trade-offs, lifestyle choices, medication treatment and behavioral changes that are fundamental.

Connecting medicines to stories allow us to understand what is really happening. It allows us to learn, to remember, to better accept our self, others, and the situations around us. In addition, we have the ability to create win-win situations by giving whatever we are dealing with what it really needs.

We can shape and respond to our world, which makes life a lot easier, more pleasing and more fun.

You are in the driver’s seat!

Enjoy,
